Rafael Baganha Carreiras has a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Porto (2018), obtaining a final classification
of 15 (out of 20) and a Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from the University of Coimbra (2020), obtaining a
final classification of 18 (out of 20). During his master's degree he carried out his dissertation research project at the
Vectors and Gene Therapy Group in the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC) of the University of Coimbra, entitled
"Development of Single-Step Affinity Chromatography Protocols for the Purification of Adeno-Associated Viral Vectors", whose
oral defense led to a final classification of 19 (out of 20). Since 2021, he is a Laboratory Technician at ViraVector@UC,
a core facility for viral production hosted by CNC-UC, where he has participated in different research projects in the field
of gene therapy. He was responsible for the implementation of a platform purification process that is compatible with several
AAV serotypes, involving the use of state-of-the-art technology combined with innovative processes.
