I hold a Master in Environmental Engineering from the University of Aveiro (UA), completed in December 2021. Since September 2019, I am a research fellow in the Group of Emissions, Modelling and Climate Change (GEMAC), which received, in 2021, an Honourable Mention from UA for its high contribution to scientific advancement in the last 5 years. GEMAC is integrated in the Centre for Environment and Marine Studies (CESAM), a research unit evaluated as Excellent by Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Currently, I am also in the second year of the Doctoral Program in Environmental Sciences and Engineering at UA and have been selected to have an FCT doctoral scholarship for 4 years. As a research fellow, I have participated in different national and international research projects. My master's dissertation, entitled "Temporal and spatial patterns of Air Quality (AQ) in Aveiro based on a monitoring network with sensors", was carried out in the scope the Urban Innovative Action Aveiro STEAM-City (UIA 03-084) where I did air quality modeling at the urban scale. I was also involved in the project "HERA - Integrating Environment and Health Research: a Vision for the EU" (GA 825417) and in the European project "LIFE Index-Air: Development of an Integrated Exposure - Dose Management Tool for Reduction of Particulate Matter in Air" (LIFE15 ENV/PT/000674). Under these projects, I have collaborated in the revision of reports on climate, environment and health, in the collection of data for the definition of emission reduction measures in urban areas, and the analysis of AQ modelling results. My hard skills acquired during the under-graduation were reinforced with several training courses: I) machine learning and large-scale data analysis; ii) PortASAP Virtual Training School: Arduino-based System for indoor AQ monitoring; iii) a short course on high-performance computing organized by Minho Advanced Computing Center; and iv) training sessions provided by GEMAC (e.g., high-level programming languages and GIS technology). Regarding scientific production, I have 2 ISI papers published, one on wildfire risk management (10.1680/jfoen.21.00010) that won a Manby Prize - Best paper that covers ICT/GIS/BIM in its broadest sense, that were developed in partnership with high-level researchers from UA, the University of Coimbra and Lusofona University; and other entitled "Using low-cost sensors to assess real-time comfort and air quality patterns in indoor households" published on Environmental Science and Pollution Research (2022) (http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s11356-022-22771-w); and 2 international communications in Cape Verde and at the Air Quality 2022 conference entitled "Developing an atmospheric emission inventory with high spatial and temporal resolutions in Portugal" related to the results of the project "BigAir - Big data to improve atmospheric emission inventories" (PTDC/EAM-AMB/2606/2020) for which I contributed as a research fellow from February to December 2022. The work developed under the STEAM project was also published in a Portuguese newspaper (Jornal de Notícias) and broadly disseminated on several UA social media platforms. My social communication and teamwork skills were achieved by the participation in several activities. I collaborated as a monitor in TECHDAYS and UA Open Campus for elementary students. In 2018, I was a member of the supporting team of CIALP conference at UA. I was also in the team of the Academic Association of the UA in the Environmental Engineering core group in the period 2018-2021 and organizer of the National Meeting of Environmental Engineering Students in 2019 at UA.
