Elisabete S. C. Ferreira completed her Chemistry Degree in 2003. In 2006 she finished the Master's degree, followed by the PhD in 2012, at the University of Porto. In 2013 she started a new path, from experimental chemistry to computational one, at the Associated Laboratory for Green Chemistry at REQUIMTE (LAQV@REQUIMTE), where currently she is a contracted researcher. Her research interests evolved during the years, from heavy metals electrochemical extraction (liquid/liquid interfaces), through the study of phospholipidic films (air/water interface) and to metal electrodeposition from deep eutectic solvents. In recent years, published works in the scope of theoretical simulations, either in the parameterization of force fields (for molecules and deep eutectic solvents), or in the study of interparticle structure and transport features of bulk and confined ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents. She has vast experience in various experimental (cyclic voltammetry using liquid/liquid and solid/liquid interfaces, chronoamperometry, conductimetry, atomic force microscopy (AFM), quartz crystal balance (QCM), Langmuir trough, nanoparticle synthesis) and theoretical (classical and ab initio molecular dynamics simulations) tools. She attends as invited referee for the world's leading professional journals. As guest assistant professor at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto, she also lectured/lectures courses, related to general chemistry (encompassing organic and analytical chemistry) and molecular dynamics simulation. She supervises/co-supervises students and serves as an invited referee for the world's leading professional journals and agencies.
