Current Position: Assistant Proffessor in Chemical Engineering at the Chemical Engineering Department at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM). - His professional career began in the Chemical Engineering Department at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) with a contract associated to a biodesulphurisation of oil fractions project. - In 2009 he was granted with a FPI PhD Fellowship from the Spanish Ministry of Science. As a PhD student in the Instituto de Catálisis y Petroleoqímica (CSIC), he developed its research activities focusing on the synthesis and characterization of photocatalysts for wastewater treatment applications. During this period, he participated in 3 national research competitive projects and 1 International Integrated Action with the Universidade do Porto (Portugal). He received grants for research stays in the Universitá di Milano, Italy (4 months) and in a Large Scientific European Installation, the Plataforma Solar de Almería (CIEMAT) (2 months). These stays allowed him to produce several conference communications and 3 high impact scientific articles (situated in D1), including 1 Journal of the American Chemical Society cited more than 250 times. He obtained his PhD degree in 2013 with the maximum qualification " Cum Laude" and he was granted with the ¿Special Doctorate Award¿ and the "European Doctorate Mention". - From January 2014 to January 2016, he worked as Process Engineer at Iberia Maintenance at the Iberia´s Engine Maintenance Overhaul facilities (Madrid Barajas Airport). He has been responsible of the initial NADCAP Aerospace Accreditation for Heat Treating (Scope: AC7102 Heat Treating Baseline, Brazing ¿ AC7102/1 and AC7102/8 Pyrometry) in Iberia and participated in the Non Destructive Testing (NDT) accreditation. - In January 2016, he joined the Chemical Engineering Department of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where he was involved in a project under the " Retos-Colaboración" program funded by Spanish Ministry of Economy with Justesa Imagen S.A. In this project, he was in charge of the Chemical Engineering strategy for the development of a new process for iodine recovery from wastes formed in AIP production. The results of this project are currently being scaled-up to a pilot plant scale thanks to a second project under the "Retos- Colaboración" program. - Since 2017, he has been involved in several projects related with Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) applied to wastewaters, including new materials for Catalytic Wet Peroxide Oxidation (CWPO), photo-assisted AOPs (photocatalysis and photo-Fenton) and gas effluent analysis in AOPs. - Since February 2019, he is a postdoctoral researcher with a contract obtained from the Juan de la Cierva programme and he is member of the Teaching Staff of the Chemical Engineering Department (UAM). From July to October 2019, he made a research stay in the LSRE-LCM Laboratory at the Universidad do Porto (Portugal) with Professor A. M. T Silva. - He has co-authored 28 publications in leading JCR international Journals ( h-index =17, 1204 citations, 650 in the las 5 years. Sc. in Chemical, Engineering. - Since 2016, he is accredited by the ANECA for the figures of Profesor Contratado Doctor and since 2021 he has recieved the I3 certificate.
