Luísa Cidália Guimarães Rodrigues is a Junior Researcher at 3B's Research Group, ICVS/3Bs associated Lab- University of Minho,
Portugal. Luísa C. Rodrigues education background includes: (i) graduation in Physics and Chemistry (2005) and (ii) PhD in
Sciences- Specialization in Chemistry (2012), at Universidade do Minho In her career, Luísa Rodrigues (h-index:20 (13 since
2018)) has published 64 documents, of which 53 are papers in international peer review journals, 6 in peer reviewed transactions
or conference proceedings and 5 book chapters. In their professional activities interacted with more than 160 collaborator(s)
in co-authorship of scientific papers. Since obtaining her PhD Luísa Rodrigues has published 36 papers in international peer
review journals, and an international filled/awarded patent entitled Methods and uses of Natural based Compositions. In 2015
and 2017 Luísa C. Rodrigues warned finance support from FCT as PI of the projects FOOD4CELLS (PTDC/CTMBIO/4706/2014) and Light2Skin
(PTDC/CTM-CTM/29813/2017), respectively, and as team member of Nature4Health (PTDC/BII-BIO/31570/2017). As project PI, she
had the opportunity of supervising 3 post-doctoral fellows and a master researcher and enabled her opportunities to expand
skills and know-how, embracing new research fields, expanding creativity, management skills, independence and responsibility.
Her research interests rely on biomimetic and self-assembly approaches applied to natural-derived biomaterials and surfaces
in order to obtain biomedical devices with improved structural properties, multifunctionality and reservoir ability for bioactive
agents, including the development of topical drug delivery devices based on natural polysaccharides and natural phytochemicals
able to act as alternatives to traditional drugs in which the main focus is the exploitation of the autochthonous flora.
She worked on the preparation of several funding proposals involving the collaboration of national & international partners
from the different fields (academic, SME¿s and hospitals). She developed international cooperation research with partners
from Brazil, China and Spain, which resulted already in 2 published papers, 1 in Biomedical Materials with CERMAT, UFSC, Brazil
and other in Radiation Physics and Chem. with the DCET of Shanghai University, China; beside the presentation of several conference
communications. 3 more papers are submitted/revision and more still in preparation (with CERMAT, IQ-UNICAMP, CIBER-BBN, Valladolid,
and the Department of Particle Physics, USC, from Spain). LR has also been part of the co-supervision of two Brazilian PhD
students that went to 3Bs facilities for short periods (1 year). She also has been involved in a Brazilian researcher stay
at 3Bs under the scope of IQ-UNICAMP, São Paulo, Brazil, partnership, which will result in a publication in a very near future,
as the revised version is in submission. She had gained expertise in several characterization techniques, being responsible
for characterization and 2 chemistry labs on the group facilities and the XPS equipment. She also assumed the responsibility
of performing the XPS analysis for all the group and partners. Considering the relevance of the assays/results, she was co-author
of 8 published papers being 3 more under submission. Luísa C. Rodrigues had communications in several international conferences
15 oral presentations and 81 posters. She also have been involved in the organization of international conferences(>18) in
different fields and envisioning distinct targets (as ISPE, PYChem, Gene2Skin, Achilles, Forecast, Chem2Nature, REMIX and
TermStem).
