Marina Cabral Pinto holds a degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Aveiro, a pre-Bologna Master's degree in Geosciences, in Geochemistry, Environment and Spatial Planning, from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, and a PhD in Geosciences from the University of Aveiro, in the area of Cartography and Environmental Geochemistry. She completed a post-doctorate in the area of Planetary Health: Medical Geology and Data Analysis, and is currently a researcher at the GeoBioTec Research Center, in the area of Environmental Geochemistry, Geostatistics, Geomedicine and BioGeoRemediation. She contributed to founding a private university in Cape Verde, establishing the Environmental Science and Research Methodology departments. She has edited 4 books, editor of 2 books, author of 6 book chapters. In terms of research projects, she was PI of International Projects (n=3), and researcher of other funded scientific projects (n=3) and is a researcher in cooperation projects (n>4). More than 59 conferece presentations. She has developed scientific management activities in several projects, assuming as coordinator or principal investigator the responsibility for the smooth running of projects, involving the selection and hiring of researchers and collaborating staff. She developed a portable filter for arsenic-contaminated water (GOV.UK Design Number: 6327532). Teaching Component: Since 2017 she teaches at the University of Aveiro the subject of Cartography and Geographic Information Systems (ArcGisPro), for several courses and degrees (Bachelor's degree: Marine Sciences; Environmental Engineering; Meteorology, Oceanography and Geophysics; Geology; Biology and Geology Teaching; Master's degrees: Geological Engineering; Geomaterials and geological resources).She also teaches the subject of advanced methods of geology, master's degree in teaching, University of Aveiro. She Overall Performance Evaluation for the year 2022/2023 (last available at the moment within the scope of the SGQ) was 7.8/9. She has been a higher education teacher since 2002, teaching more than 14 subjects. She has taught curricular units in courses leading to bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, mostly as a lecturer. She has also taught (2014) at several Universities in Portugal and abroad (Cape Verde, East Timor, Angola, Mozambique). She has supervised 15 students in their master's dissertations, and is supervising 5 students in their doctoral dissertations (one finnished. In 2022, as part of a teacher exchange program, he taught at the Institut Teknologi Bandung, Fakultas Ilmu Dan Teknologi Kebumian, Java, Indonesia, where he also carried out a field campaign with teachers and master's students from the University's Geology Department, who also intend to be supervised by the University of Aveiro.
