Susana Isabel Nascimento Soares completed a BSc in Biology in 2019 at the University of Aveiro with a final classification of 16/20. During her final project, Susana Soares worked on the analysis of the metabolome of the bacterium "Pedobacter lusitanus" in the search for new antibiotics, under the guidance of Professor Sónia Mendo (https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5057-5660). In 2021, she completed an MSc in Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Aveiro with a final classification of 18/20. Her thesis entitled "Cytotoxic effect of wasp venom peptides in breast cancer cells", was supervised by Doctor Verónica Bastos (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9882-4766) and Doctor Helena Oliveira (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4673-0696), and obtained a classification of 19/20. She is the author of a poster communication entitled "Antitumor potential of Chartergellus peptide-CP1 from Chartergellus communis wasp venom in two different breast cancer cell lines " presented at the "13th Inorganic and Bioinorganic Chemistry Conference" on March 29th and 30th, 2022. Her work has provided Susana with skills in molecular biology, microbiology and cell culture. Susana Soares has a strong interest in mass spectrometry and the identification and characterization of new bioactive compounds isolated from wasps.
