Adriana Vinhas conclude her master degree in Applied Biochemistry with a specialization area of Biomedicine at School of Sciences in 2015 at the University of Minho. After she attended the course of Science in Laboratory Animals, corresponding to Category C of FELASA, to obtain professional training for performing procedures on animals, at the University of Porto, Portugal. Later, she graduated and received her PhD in Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells of the 3Bs Research Group, I3Bs Research Institute on Biomaterials, Biodegradables and Biomimetics of the University of Minho, and graduated on 23rd of March 2021 with the maximum grade (Muito Bom). During her doctoral research, she investigated the magnetic actuation on tendon and immune-cells under an inflammatory environment, and the role of magnetic-actuated platforms to promote tendon healing. Her work significantly contributed to development of new tools and strategies for tendon regeneration. The PhD results in several publications in international peer-review journals and dissemination of work in several national and international communications. She has been involved in the organization of "PhDynamics", an internal program created by the PhD students for science dissemination and so "skills" development, and led exhibitions of scientific contents at FNAC-Braga to promote science in society. She was also involved in the organization committee of several international conferences. She was awarded with the "Biology young investigator poster presentation" on the EORS 26th Annual Meeting, and was also a winner of the contest CHEM2BRAIN, in Summer School, in CHEM2NATURE Summer School, in 2018. Adriana is currently a Junior Researcher under a project ERC Consolidator Grant MagTendon Magnetically Assisted Tissue Engineering Technologies for Tendon Regeneration. From all research activity, Adriana Vinhas authored and co-authored of 12 research papers in international peer review journals (14 published with accumulative IF > 80, 1 submitted), 2 review papers (IJMS and Adv Drug Deliv Rev, with a combined IF>25), and 1 book chapter published in international book with ISBN. As a result, she engaged in many relevant scientific communications in national and international conferences with 15 oral presentations and 26 poster presentations, being very active in engaging the public dissemination of the work. Adriana Vinhas was invited to give a keynote lecture entitled - "Tissue Engineering Strategies with Magnetic Technologies applied to tendon regeneration", at 10as Jornadas de Ciências Biotecnológicas at ESA-IPVC. Moreover, she has been involved in mentoring some undergraduate, MSc and PhD students in laboratory, as well as she participate actively in the preparation of national/international proposals (EC,FCT,LaCaixa,ERC CoG). The active role of Adriana in these proposals enables collaborations with academia and companies and promotes international networks for developing high-tech projects. She has been cited 139 times in Scopus and 173 in Google Scholar, with an h-index 8. Recently, she was awarded with three important international prizes. Adriana received the Acta Student Award 2021 for the manuscript she firstly author published in Acta Biomaterialia - "Human tendon derived cell sheets created by magnetic force-based tissue engineering holds tenogenic and immunomodulatory potential", and also received the 2023 Travel Award by International Journal of Molecular Science. Most importantly, she was awarded an Innovation Research Project - "ON Pilot Grant Ankle 2022" by ON Foundation for the research project - "Smart nanocarriers for targeting NFkB pathway in tendon inflammation".
