Nuno is a Professor at Instituto Superior de Estudos Interculturais e Transdisciplinares de Almada (Piaget Institute, Portugal) focusing on Anatomy, Physiology, Resistance Training, and Physical Activity and Health. His research focuses on the physiological, metabolic and behavioural mechanisms that influence weight management. In particular, he is interested in the relationship between body composition, energy expenditure and physical activity with appetite and energy intake under different conditions of energy balance. One of his main interests is in understanding the large inter-individual variability regarding weight management outcomes, as well the factors that predispose individuals to develop obesity.
