Carla Mendes Soares is a psychologist Ph.D. candidate in Health Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (FMUC). Currently, she is engaged in research at the Coimbra Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Translational Research (CIBIT) within the Institute for Nuclear Sciences Applied to Health (ICNAS). Her overarching goal is to investigate the neuronal underpinnings behind the use of psychedelic substances, with the aim of deepening the understanding of the human brain and exploring innovative approaches to mental health and well-being.
