Isabel Rocha Pinto, concluded her PhD in 2006 in the University of Porto. She is an Associate Professor with Habilitation in the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences, University of Porto, Director of the Social Psychology Lab of the University of Porto, and coordinator of the research group "Culture, Normativity and Diversity", of the Center for Psychology of the University of Porto (member of the Executive Board of CPUP). Her main research interests, expertise, and publication products focus on Social Psychology, on the following topics: psychosocial processes predictive of extremism (namely, terrorism, nationalism, conspirational thinking, and populism) and adherence to (vs tolerance vs reaction against) economic and hate crime, discrimination against immigrants. She is also interested in investigating the impact of these phenomena on commitment to an inclusive vs exclusive vs anomic social cohesion. She is a member of a solid international network working on these topics. She is expert in experimental and correlational methodology (with publication and teaching also in these domains), as well as in quantitative analysis, with especial emphasis on moderation and mediation analyses. As a teacher, her interest focuses on innovative pedagogic methodologies that privilege the development of students' transversal skills, such as critical thinking, social responsibility and pro-diversity.
