Luís Filipe Sanches Fernandes is a Full Professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (scientific and disciplinary
area of Civil Engineering). He has an Aggregate Degree in Civil Engineering obtained in 2013/03/12 from the University of
Évora. He has a PhD in Civil Engineering since 2002 from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, a Master's degree
in Municipal Engineering and Planning - Basic Sanitation since 1998/01/21 from the University of Minho and a degree in Civil
Engineering since 1993/07/19 from the same University. He is an integrated member of the Centre for Research and Agro-environmental
and Biological Technologies (CITAB). He has published around one and a half hundred articles indexed in Scopus and has an
H index of 36 on the same platform. He also has a number of conference papers, book chapters and other documents in Scopus.
He has been a coordinating researcher and participant in a series of national and international scientific projects, managing
a considerable volume of funds allocated to various items in these projects. He has organised a series of national and international
scientific events. He supervised 6 completed doctorates, two of them international, and 39 master's dissertations, one of
them international. He has supervised more than two dozen research fellows (undergraduates, masters and doctors). Works in
