Luana Vidoti da Silva holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR, 2022), an equivalent licentiate degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB, 2022), and a Master of Science degree in Construction Engineering from IPB (2022). From 2016 to 2018, she participated in the UTFPR tutoring programme, providing academic support in calculus, differential and ordinary equations, and general mechanics. In 2020, she worked as an engineering intern at the Heloa Palma Engineering Office, assisting in the development of construction projects. In 2021, she began her master’s degree in Construction Engineering at IPB through the International Mobility of the Double Degree Programme between UTFPR and IPB. Her master’s thesis focused on the elastic lateral-torsional buckling (LTB) of cellular beams. From September 2022 to September 2023, she worked as a researcher at IPB on the HiFireDoor project (NORTE-01-0247-FEDER-072225), investigating the thermal behavior of fire doors using the Hot-Box method and analyzing the adhesion of wood resins with fire retardants at elevated temperatures. Since November 2023, she has been a researcher at IPB on the GICoS Internal Project (PD0049), conducting experimental tests and numerical analyses on the instability of cellular steel beams under fire conditions. She is the author of a published paper in the Structures journal on the elastic LTB of cellular beams (Elastic lateral-torsional buckling of cellular beams, 2024) and has a paper under review in the Fire Safety journal. In 2024, she participated in the Portugal Steel Seminar, delivering an oral presentation on elastic LTB of cellular beams, and presented her research on cellular beams under fire conditions at the Congress on Numerical Methods in Engineering (CMN 2024), where she also published a full article. In May 2025, she began working as a research on the FIRECELL project (COMPETE2030-FEDER-00833500). She is currently a PhD candidate in Civil Engineering at the University of Aveiro, focusing on structural optimization and the analysis of steel cellular beams under ambient and fire conditions.
