Graduated in Natural Sciences from the University of Rome La Sapienza, I continued my studies in France, attending the Master course "Biodiversity, ecology and evolution" taught by the University of Bordeaux, where, during the second year of Master, I chose the specialization "Biodiversity and Ecosystems Functioning". I am currently a Research Fellow at the University of Algarve. My main areas of interest are Conservation of the Biodiversity and Marine Biology, this last one with a special focus on marine mammals and the ecology of these species. In this respect, I attended a three-months internship on cetaceans at MARE-Madeira center, experience that strongly motivated me to continue in this field. It is in this context that I got involved with the University of Algarve, where I am currently working as a research fellow in the project JONAS (Joint Framework for Ocean Noise in the Atlantic Seas, EAPA_52/2018 ), which focuses on the impacts of anthropic noise on marine species. My professional career has always been focused on the study of anthropic impacts on biodiversity. In my first year of master, I already approached this subject studying the impacts of introduced predators on the colonies of the seabird Calonectris diomedea, in the Azores, thanks to the application of camera traps. Then, for my final master thesis, during the second year, I carried out a study on the impacts of habitat loss and landscape modification due to agriculture on Portuguese endangered mammals at the University of Evora. My professional project is now to combine my two main interests, studying anthropogenic impacts and conservation measures concerning marine mammals. I participated in projects where I was responsible for the use of marine scientific measuring equipment at sea and for several sampling techniques for mammals and seabirds and for the implementation of various ecological analysis tools.
