Renato Manuel de Caldevilla Carvalho has a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (2021, School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto) and holds a master's degree (2023) in Pharmacy- Major in Medicines and Health Products Technology from the same institution. During his master's degree 1st year, Renato began his research activity, when he had the opportunity to participate in a project that evaluated the biological activity of the baobab fruit. Renato completed his master's degree with the participation in a collaborative project between CISA-E2S and GRAQ-ISEP (LAQV-REQUIMTE), developing an electrochemical genosensing device capable of detecting polymorphic sequences regarding the BDNF gene as part of his master´s thesis. Renato is currently a team member of the GenoPsySen project and recently worked as an invited assistant at ESS, teaching practical laboratory classes. Moreover, he has recently embraced the medical oncology field at IPO-Porto as a research fellow on the Experimental Pathology and Therapeutics group. Renato Caldevilla has attended several national and international conferences, having authored and co-authored 15 scientific posters. Additionally, he has presented his work at 2 different international conferences as distinct oral communications. Furthermore, Renato has published a review article in a Q1 international journal and a proceedings conference paper (both as the first author). His main research interests and expertise include the medical oncology field, focusing on non-invasive biomarkers in colorectal cancer, and electrochemical biosensensing approaches for the detection of potential neuropsychiatric and oncologic biomarkers.
