Expert in biotechnology and therapeutic approaches for arthritic diseases. Strong background in cell culture (cytotoxicity/viability assays, PBMCs isolation, flow cytometry, transfection, microscopy, immunoprecipitation), molecular biology techniques (PCR, ELISA, electrophoresis, Western blot), protein production/purification (microbiology, chromatography), In vivo arthritic models development. Published 12 articles in peer-reviewed journals. She has 2 book chapters and several oral and poster presentations in national and international congresses. She helped in the organization of 5 scientific events. She co-supervised 1 master students and help in the supervision of 1 trainee, 1 master students and is currently supervising a Trainee. She gathered 6 Fellowships throughout her scientific career. She did her Ph.D. with a national Ph.D. scholarship financed by FCT (SFRH/BD/82196/2011), she also participated as an invited researcher with a Marie Sklodowska Curie Staff Exchanges (BAMOS, Grant No 734156) in the UCL, UK, and she worked as post-doctoral researcher on a European project focused on new therapeutic strategies for rheumatoid arthritis. Currently she is working at i3S Diagnostics as part of the SARS-CoV-2 detection team were she is also involved in the implementation of SOPs, initiation of the certification process of the lab according to ISO 15189 and searching new diagnostic technologies to implement and broaden i3S Diagnostics’ services. Through her professional activities, she collaborated with 34 scientists as co-authors in scientific works and her interdisciplinarity was recognized by the invitation to review 7 articles in peer-reviewed journals. She has been able to defy herself in every scientific area in which she has been involved. She has proved to adapt to every context and published in all institutions in which she has worked.
