Nathalie Marquet is currently a junior researcher at the Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) in Faro. She obtained her Ph.D in 2017 in Marine Sciences, Earth and Environmental Science (Specialty: Marine Ecology) at the Universidade do Algarve with Distinction and Honours. She has two master's degree (both graduated with Great Distinction): one in Biological sciences (orientation: Animal Biology) obtained at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (2007) and another in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation (erasmus mundus) obtained at the Ghent University (2011). She possesses also a teaching licence ("Titulo de Agregado") in Biological Sciences obtained at the University Libre de Bruxelles in 2010. She published five articles as first author, she is a co-author of three articles and one technical report and she published one book chapter. She participated in various projects (climate change, ecotourism, biological invasion, chemical communication) in different research institutions in Belgium (Université Libre de Bruxelles, Ghent University, Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, University of Liège) and in different countries (Belgium, Azores, Portugal, Spain). She mentored BSc, MSc and Ph.D students in CCMAR. She was also involved in the organization of conferences that were schedulded in 2020 in Portugal (ASSEMBLE conference, Conference of european comparative endocrinologists - CECE2020). She is specialized in reproductive biology, marine ecology and chemical communication. Through her research experience, Nathalie has solid knowledge in marine invertebrates reproduction and has developed scientific rigor, good writing and organizational skills.
