I obtained a Master's degree in Urban Water Cycle in 2020 from the University of Algarve and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering in 2013 from the same institution. On my MSc thesis, I developed a strategy alongside the Municipality of Loulé to foster the transition of Quarteira (Southern Portugal) into a Water Sensitive City. This strategy was founded upon a thorough analysis of structural management best practices of Water Sensitive Urban Design. These best management practices include natural solutions applied in the urban context to mitigate extreme weather event. I have worked continuously with several modelling tools throughout my academic career, including Geographic Information Systems and urban water network modelling tools. My main interests include using nature-based solutions to restore the balance between socio-ecological systems subject to increasing anthropogenic pressures. From August 2020 until June 2021, I collaborated with APA-ARH of Algarve in a LIFE project, "Environmental Volunteering for Water", to monitor aquatic habitats ecological status by assessing the presence of benthonic macroinvertebrates and cooperated in the development of the project "Hydric Efficiency at School". In addition, I participated as a guest speaker in a webinar on green spaces at school within the training workshop associated with the project.
