Vera Ferreira concluiu o Doutoramento em Ciências do Mar, da Terra e do Ambiente em 2015 , o Mestrado em Engenharia do Ambiente em 2009 e a Licenciatura em Engenharia do Ambiente em 2007, todos na Universidade do Algarve, Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia. É Investigador Contratado na Universidade do Algarve, no Centro de Investigação sobre Turismo, Sustentabilidade e bem-estar (CinTurs). Atualmente é também professora convidada das disciplinas de Avaliação ambiental e recuperação da Paisagem e Técnicas de Sustentabilidade aplicadas ao projeto, do curso de Mestrado de Arquitetura Paisagista (2ºCiclo) na Universidade do Algarve.Publicou 12 artigos em revistas especializadas. Participa e participou nalguns projetos nacionais e internacionais. Atua nas áreas de Ciências Naturais com ênfase em Ciências da Terra e do Ambiente com ênfase em Ciências do Ambiente. Os interesses atuais de investigação são sustentabilidade, espaço urbano, soluções baseadas na natureza, envolvimento dos stakeholders, saúde e bem-estar e turismo sustentável.
