Peter is currently building up PhycoFerm lda (www.phycoferm.com) and is adjunct researcher at the Nord Univerisity. Previously, he completed his professional education as an electrician in the field of solar energy, a BSc in Marine Biotechnology from the University of Applied Science in Bremerhaven (Germany), a MSc in Aquaculture from the University of Algarve in Faro (Portugal) and a PhD in Aquatic Biosciences from Nord University in Bodø (Norway). During his research career at different research institutions in Europe and Israel, he published multiple peer-reviewed articles on algae, focusing on improving growth and biomolecule production. As former Innovation Manager of the GreenCoLab, he acquired know-how about the whole algae value chain from lab to industrial scale production towards final product development as well as environmental and economic assessments. As an algal biotechnologist, he has profound skills in project elaboration and coordination (e.g., Horizon Europe LOCALITY, COSEC, XTREMOLIFE, I3-4 SEAWEED, EEA ALGACYCLE, PT2020 ALGAESOLUTIONS), innovation management, business development and leading scientific workgroups.
