I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Associate Laboratory LSRE-LCM (Laboratory of Separation and Reaction Engineering - Laboratory of Catalysis and Materials), Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP, Portugal), conducting a research focused on Hydrogen generation through the Westinghouse process. In 2022, I began a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Laboratory for Process Engineering, Environment, Biotechnology and Energy (LEPABE, FEUP), my work involved the development of electrodes and battery design for vanadium redox flow batteries application. In 2011, I completed my Ph.D. studies under a co-tutelle agreement between FEUP (Portugal) and the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies at University Abdelmalek Essaadi (FST-UAE, Tangier, Morocco). The topic of my Ph.D. was entitled “Development of Novel 2D Materials for Water Splitting in Solar Applications". During my Ph.D., I performed nine months stay at the Institute of Materials Chemistry at the Technical University of Vienna (TUW, Austria). In 2016, I finished my MSc in Multifunctional Materials and Applications at FST UAE. While studying there, I did my MSc thesis on “Optimization of Gypsum in Cement/Analysis of Industrial Risks”, performed at the Industry of Cement (laayoune, Morocco), where I developed a particular interest in Process and Industrial Engineering. In 2014, I received my Bachelor's degree in Physics Chemistry of Materials from the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies at University Cadi Ayyad (FSTG, Marrakech, Morocco). In my research career, I was awarded 5 competitive grants and contracts. My scientific production encompasses nine scientific articles: six published articles (J. Energy Chem. (IF:13.599); ACS Sustain. Chem. Eng. (IF:9.224); (J. Colloid Interface Sci. (IF:9.965); Int. J. Hydrog. Energy (IF:7.139); Fuel (IF: 6.7); Appl. Catal. A (IF:5.723)), and three are in process. I also participated in several international and national conferences allowing me to disseminate my work and attended different workshops and seminars to deepen my knowledge. I participated and taught practical lectures on different course units in Chemical Sciences at FST/Tangier. I tutored and helped several undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D. students at FEUP/Porto, FST/Tangier and at TUW/Vienna, strengthening my international contacts and leading to future publications. I managed and was responsible for different equipment and partake in backoffice tasks associated with teaching. I participated in the writing and organization of projects. I am highly motivated to develop sustainable technologies for energy production and storage. My main interests include sustainable engineering, energy storage and conversion, hydrogen production, Power-to-X processes, thin-film solar cell design, nanohybrids materials, catalyst design, membrane materials, battery design and manufacturing, electrochemistry, photochemistry, water splitting technologies. The development of new processes that guarantee safe energy production and conversion with environmental conservation is thus a priority in my career.
