Janna Joceli Omena is a research fellow at the Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS), Bochum, Germany, where she is working on a project about computer vision networks – developing digital visual methods for social and medium research. She is also a teaching assistant in digital methods at King’s College London and part of iNOVA Media Lab, where she founded and lead the #SMARTDataSprint. Her research is about digital methods and technicity-of-the-mediums. She investigates digital platforms, web-based applications and software functioning and potentials for methodological innovation. She is also fascinated with digital networks studies and everything that comes with the building/interpretative processes of these networks. She is currently co-leading a working group about "A Critical Framework for investigating bot engagement". Between 2018 and 2019 she has edited her first book (in Portuguese) that gather referential texts about Métodos Digitais: Teoria-Prática-Crítica.
