Gisela Oliveira is a lecturer in education studies at De Montfort University, UK. There she is Programme Leader for the MA Education Practice and teaches and supervises students for the BA Education Studies, MA Education Practice and the Doctoral College. Previously, she worked as a researcher in the School of Education at the University of Leeds, in the project “Narnian Virtues: A Character Education English Curriculum”, funded by £1.1M from the John Templeton Foundation. In 2017 Gisela completed her Ph.D entitled “Transfer of Learning between Higher Education and the Workplace” at the University of Leeds, and prior to that she completed a Master by research at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Her doctoral thesis was funded by The University of Leeds and by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT - Portugal). Her research interests are learning and teaching in higher education, namely in issues related to transfer of learning, employability and the transition from education into work. She also developed a particular interest in qualitative research methods and more recently visual research methods in education.
