Tânia Vieira Madureira is a Researcher at CIIMAR - University of Porto and an Invited Associate Professor at ICBAS - University of Porto. Teaching activity includes curricular units from different courses, namely Integrated Master Degree in Medicine and Dental Medicine, Master Degree in Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, Master Degree in Marine Sciences - Marine Resources and Master Degree in Oncology. She received her degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2005 and her PhD in 2011 in Biomedical Sciences from ICBAS, in collaboration with Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil. She was a postdoc at CIIMAR from 2011 to 2018. She supervised/co-supervised Degree/MSC/PhD students. She authored/co-authored more than 35 articles in journals and 1 section book. Her actual research interests focus on fish physiology and endocrinology, fish endocrine disruption, in vivo and in vitro fish models. Currently, her main focus is on three-dimensional (3D) hepatocyte cultures, namely spheroids, as new alternative models for hepatotoxicity and (eco)toxicological applications. She has a large experience with fish handling in laboratory and field conditions, certified by Direção Geral de Alimentação e Veterinária (DGAV) as accredited to conduct animal procedures and design of procedures and projects (Research Coordinator).
