Ânia Chasqueira is a Researcher at TECHN&ART - Centre for Technology, Restoration and Art Enhancement at Polytechnic University of Tomar (Portugal), with a doctoral scholarship funded by the Portuguese Agency for Science, Research and Technology (FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia). She is a PhD candidate in Heritage Studies at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Algarve. She holds a Master's degree in Conservation and Restoration - Integrated Heritage with a specialisation in ceramic materials and a degree in Conservation and Restoration from the Tomar School of Technology of the Polytechnic University of Tomar. She has worked as a conservator-restorer in several national and international monuments, such as the Convento dos Capuchos (Sintra, Portugal), which won the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra 2022 Awards, from the European Commission and Europa Nostra, in the category of Conservation and Adaptive Reuse; the Igreja Matriz de Coruche (Main Church of Coruche) (Portugal), which received an honourable mention in the Glubenkian Heritage Prize 2022; the Cathedral of Nossa Senhora da Vitória (Our Lady of Victory), in Vitória da Conquista in Bahia (Brazil); or the Rossio Station in Lisbon (Portugal). Her research currently focuses on the preservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage, in its intersection with the methodology of creative conservation and sustainable development. She has published several papers and book chapters and participated in various national and international conferences and scientific meetings.
