Joana I. Santos is a biologist with a PhD in the cumulative effects of drought on aquatic macroinvertebrate communities, developed in the University of Aveiro. Previously, she completed a Master degree in Ecology, Biodiversity and Ecosystems Management in 2010 and a Bachelor Degree in Biology in 2008, both in University of Aveiro. Also, she was a Research Fellow in 3 projects funded by FCT and worked as a laboratory technician. Her work focus on the area of Freshwater Biology and Ecology, with a specific interest in the ecology of benthic macroinvertebrate communities and aquatic ecotoxicology. Published 13 articles in peer-reviewed international scientific journals and participated in international congresses and conferences with oral presentations and posters.
