Valentina Bonomi, is an Italian researcher at the CEGIST group at the Instituto Superior Tecnico of Lisbon. Since BSc studies she has immersed herself in Operations Research, where she can apply mathematical principles to solve real-life problems and implement solutions across various fields. This passion for mathematics has guided her academic and professional journey, allowing her to specialize in areas that significantly impact society. Valentina has consistently sought international experiences to broaden her academic and professional horizons, enhancing the understanding of diverse research methodologies. She earned her BSc and MSc in Management Engineering at the University of Brescia (Italy), complementing the studies with a research period at CIRRELT at Université Laval (Quebec, Canada). Since 2020, she has been a teaching assistant for Operations Research and Mathematical Analysis courses, sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with students. She obtained her PhD in Information Engineering from the University of Brescia under the supervision of Prof. Renata Mansini, specializing in Rich Vehicle Routing Problems with practical applications in Healthcare and Last-Mile logistics. Her dedication to international collaboration was further solidified during a two-month research visit at CEGIST (Lisbon, Portugal) which inspired her to pursue a professional career there. Throughout her academic journey, she has participated in multiple international exchange programs, including stints at Southern Denmark University, University of Bucharest (Erasmus+), and Université Laval. Her diverse academic background and international experiences have equipped her with a unique perspective and a robust skill set, making her a valuable asset in the fields of Operations Research and Mathematical Analysis.
