Sónia da Silva Sousa

Sónia S. Sousa is a Clinical Psychologist and Researcher at the Psychological Neuroscience Laboratory, Research Center in Psychology (CIPsi), School of Psychology, University of Minho. She received her PhD in Basic Psychology -FCT Doctoral fellowship award, at the School of Psychology, University of Minho, with the maximum score ¿Very Good¿. Her research work focuses on studying the interplay between the neurodevelopment of executive functions and behavior, throughout the lifespan. Specifically, in studying the influence of brain development and lifestyle on executive functions and self-regulatory processes, and how an atypical development of these processes may lead to unhealthy behaviors, or disease. As part of her work, Sónia S. Sousa has published in international peer-review journals with a Scopus 8 h-index, and collaborates with international and national research teams/projects (e.g. addictive behaviors, physical activity, aging, early life adversity, school achievement). Sónia S. Sousa has technical skills on neuropsychological evaluation and neuroimaging analysis and is collaborator at the Psychology Association of the University of Minho.
