Helena Pais completed her PhD in Physics with a concentration in Astrophysics in 2013 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA. She works in the area of Physical Sciences with emphasis on Nuclear Astrophysics. She is a CEECIND assistant researcher at the University of Coimbra. She has published 45 articles in journals, and 1 section of a book. She's the PI go a FCT exploratory project, ref. 2022.06460.PTDC. She has given 16 invited talks. She co-oriented 1 PhD and 2 MSc students, and is currently orienting 1 PhD and co-orienting another one. She serves as referee for journals such as PRL, PRC or MNRAS. She's been invited as Lead Guest Editor and Guest Editor for Special Topic issues. In the course of her professional activity, she has interacted with over 40 collaborators, co-authors of the scientific papers. In her curriculum Ciência Vitae the most frequent terms in the context of scientific, technological and artistic-cultural output are: Neutron stars; Equation of state; Phase transitions; Symmetry energy; Strong magnetic fields.
