Dr. Yasser Al Helaly is an Invited Assistant Professor and Cybersecurity Researcher at NOVA Information Management School, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Portugal. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer engineering and a master's degree in computer science from the American University in Cairo. Further elevating his expertise, Dr. Al Helaly completed his Ph.D. in Information Management at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. His scholarly pursuits are primarily focused on Information Systems, specializing in Cybersecurity and Information Systems. Dr. Al Helaly's research contributions are significant, with his work being published in esteemed academic journals including Computers & Security and the Australian Journal of Information Management. In addition to his academic endeavors, Dr. Al Helaly brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as a Cybersecurity professor. In his teaching role at NOVA IMS, he is committed to equipping students with hands-on skills in cybersecurity. He adeptly teaches Applied Cybersecurity to undergraduates and Fundamentals of Cybersecurity to master’s students, focusing on the synthesis of theory and practical application. His teaching approach is specially designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, preparing his students for real-world challenges in the field of cybersecurity.
