Jorge Landeck received his PhD in Technological Physics from the University of Coimbra in 2003. He is an Auxiliary Professor in the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra, where he lectures on Electronics, Data Acquisition Systems, and Distributed Control Systems; and where he has supervised a number of MSc and PhD thesis. He has an in-depth knowledge of product development of high-tech systems, and broad managerial experience as co-founder and CTO of Cleanwatts, since 2014, and previously of ISA Intelligent Sensing Anywhere, between 1992 and 2012. Cleanwatts develops energy management systems for domestic, commercial, and industrial applications that aim to improve energy efficiency and optimize renewable energy communities. He has over 25 years of experience in the areas of instrumentation, industrial data communications, and distributed applications. He has authored or co-authored several scientific publications in refereed journals, managed several national and European R&D projects, and developed several innovative remote management systems.
