I recently completed my PhD in Environmental Sciences and Engineering (22 January 2024) at the University of Aveiro. Additionally, I have a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from the same university. In the last 5 years, I have been a research fellow at the Group of Emissions, Modelling and Climate Change (GEMAC) in the Department of Environment and Planning, one of the labs of the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM) Associate Laboratory, at the University of Aveiro. During my time in GEMAC, I had the opportunity to participate in 3 International research projects – SMARTDEC, UNALAB and Luso-German Integrated Action – and in 6 national research projects – DOUROZONE, GENESIS, PRUNING, SMOKESTORM, ATLACE and SAGE – while also contributing to other research activities within the group (consulting activities, project proposals, talks and mentoring). My primary responsibilities in these projects include applying air quality modelling systems, processing and analysing data from regional to micro-scale, and providing project management support. I have experience working with different dataset formats (e.g. NetCDF, GRIB, CSV and Json) and origins (such as monitoring networks, models, remote sensing products, emissions inventories or datasets provided by companies). Additionally, I am used to working with large datasets and using programming languages for data analysis and visualisation (Python, R, Bash). These skills give me confidence that I can adapt and work with any type of data. Working with multidisciplinary teams, in the scientific area of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, on topics like climate change and sustainability led to the authoring/co-authoring of 11 publications in peer review journals (h-index 8), 12 conference participations, and various dissemination activities (training courses, workshops and magazine articles for the general public).
