Marília Figueira is an integrated PhD member of CICS-UBI, conducting activities as Responsible Researcher for the Cell Culture Laboratory at CICS-UBI. Marília Figueira has a PhD in Biomedicine (2023). Her area of research is the Hormonal Regulation of Prostate Cancer, namely, the effects of estrogens and their receptors on the development and progression of this type of cancer. Author of 17 articles in international scientific journals and a book chapter related to her research work. She participated and presented his work in several national and international congresses. Marília is also guest editor in international journals special issues, namely, "Targeting Hormonal Regulation in Prostate Cancer” in the journal Life and “Drug Resistance and Tumor Microenvironment in Human Cancers” in the journal Biomedicines. Regarding pedagogical activities, she collaborated in teaching activities of the Bachelor's and Marster's in Biomedical Sciences and Biochemistry, namely, in the "Human Anatomy and Phisiology II", "Introduction to Biomedical Sciences", "Applied Molecular Biology", "Project in Biochemistry", and "Seminar" courses. She also participated as arguer in the evaluation of undergraduated and graduated students works and thesis. She supervised students developing their Master´s thesis at CICS-UBI. Marília Figueira co-founded of the company inSci in 2018, where she developed work in the scientific communication area, namely, in scientific and technologic training, scientific events organization and scientific illustration.
