Since 2011, I am member of CICECO, engaging in scientific activities in the field of Materials Science, participating in 11 national and international research projects, of which I am/was a part of the management team for 3 projects, as well as 6 COST Actions participations. I have published 46 scientific articles/book chapters indexed in the SCI Verse of SCOPUS (ID: 56108574200), resulting in an h-index of 20 and receiving more than 1700 citations. Additionally, I presented more than 50 communications at national and international conferences. In the realm of intellectual property rights and ownership, I am co-author of 6 registrations. The recognition of my work is evidenced by being awarded with the Young Scientist of the Year in 2016 by the International Association of Advanced Materials, as well as through various publications in the media. Furthermore, I was recognized as belonging to the top 2% percentile of authors in the world in my sub-field, accordingly with the Stanford-Elsevier; Ioannidis, John P.A., for two year in a row (2023 & 2024). Also, I regularly collaborate as a peer reviewer for prestigious journals in the field of Materials Science and Engineering, having served as a guest editor for 3 Special Issues in the field of materials science, regularly serve as evaluator for research grants, and have evaluated a research project submitted to the National Science Center of Poland. Furthermore, I contributed to feedback sent by CICECO to the Ministers of Environment and Economy to evaluate the reduction in the consumption of plastic and other disposable items made from fossil resources. Additionally, I have established national and international partnerships with institutions such as the University of Madeira, Portugal, the University of Padova. Italy, University of Craiova, Romania, among others. In parallel, I have been lecturing for over ten years, in the fields Chemistry, Physics, and Materials Science and Engineering at UA, developing all the supporting materials, including theoretical and practical handouts. Additionally, I have supervised students in their undergraduate, master's, and doctoral theses, as well as international students within the scope of the Erasmus+ program. The recognition of teaching quality is evidenced by consistently high ratings in pedagogical surveys, with a final rating of "Excellent" recorded in the 2018-2020 edition. I have also been actively involved in professional activities within the business sector, with a notable role as a Production Manager at Costa e Dias Lda., a company specializing in the production of plastic products. This experience allowed me to acquire technical and practical knowledge related to various types of polymers and their industrial processing. Additionally, my participation in various research projects in collaboration with different materials-related companies demonstrates the diversity of experiences and expertise I have gained in this sector. Finally, I regularly collaborate in outreach/educational activities in UA's Summer Academy, at the UA's Open Campus, Chemistry Olympiads, and Techdays Aveiro. I was also a member of the organizing team for Pint of Science, the world's largest science communication festival, serving as the coordinator for the city of Aveiro since 2022 and the coordinator of Portugal's events department since 2023. I was member of the organization team of the “Plastic 360º Workshop”, held at the UA, dedicated to innovation and sustainability in polymer waste management, which offered a unique opportunity to explore solutions and exchange ideas with industry experts and brought together participants from industry, academia, and recycling/environmental organizations from across Portugal. Equally important to mention is my availability to volunteer for the BioLiving Association - nature and education for all.

2022 - 2024 Pint of Science - Pint of Science is a non-profit association which main objective is to make scientific discussion accessible to the entire population, in other words, it organizes the largest science communication festival in the world. Since 2021, I am a volunteer of the Pint of Science organization team. Since 2022, I am the coordinator of the city of Aveiro and since 2023, I am the coordinator of the Event department of Portugal.
