Aline Caramona got her Bachelor's degree (Applied Chemistry) from the NOVA School of Science and Technology in 2019. Since then, she started to develop her research career in pharmaceutical technology (design, development, production, and quality control techniques) by developing emulsions with lamellar structures for topical application at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon (FFUL). Continuing her studies, she pursued a Master's degree in Medicinal and Biopharmaceutical Chemistry at FFUL, where her thesis focused on innovative bioactive substance delivery systems using biocompatible polysaccharides of marine origin with the collaboration of Ascenza Agro S.A. As a result, she presents a poster in the iMed.Ulisboa Meeting 2021 and published one article entitled "Repurposing of marine raw materials in the formulation of innovative plant protection products". In 2022, she joined an internship project at the East Paris Institute of Chemistry and Materials (France) about the "Associative amphiphilic copolymer by host-guest inclusion for emulsion stabilization". Now, as a Pharmacy PhD candidate specializing in pharmaceutical technology, her work focuses on the "Repurposing of lupin by-products in the formulation of innovative systems for sustainable topical formulations". She has participated in seven conferences and published an article titled "The use, reuse, and valorization of lupin and its industry by-products for dermocosmetics applications”. All the work Aline developed during her recent career has been significantly enriched by her collaborations, which contributed to her expanded knowledge in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology. Furthermore, she has strong organizational skills in managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude and is highly motivated to learn and expand her abilities in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
