Ana Frias is an Invited Assistant Professor at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, where she teaches curriculum units in the Bachelor's degree programs in Social Gerontology, Sports and Leisure, and Basic Education, as well as in the Master's program in Health Education. She is also an Invited Assistant Professor at the School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda, teaching curriculum units in the Nursing Bachelor's degree program. Since 2019, she has been a collaborating member of the Didactic Research and Technology in Teacher Training Center at the University of Aveiro, and since 2023, a collaborating researcher at inED – Center for Research and Innovation in Education, Coimbra branch (Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra). Her initial training is in Nursing, and she worked for over a decade providing care in neurosurgery at the Coimbra Hospital and University Center. In her Master's in Education Sciences at the University of Coimbra, she developed a dissertation titled "Training Paths of Nurses and Care Practices," defended in 2009. In her doctorate, she wrote the thesis "Sexuality and Gender in HIV/AIDS Prevention Campaigns" (2015). Her academic and professional journey focuses on the "Education & Health" interface, with a growing interest in aging.
