Hugo completed his bachelor's degree in Biotechnology in 2021 from the University of Aveiro with a final project on the Human Heme binding protein´s role in immunology. He is currently enrolled in a master's degree on Molecular Biotechnology and Bioengineering in the same university and in 2022 joined the COMPASS research group to write his thesis on the development of 3D printable porous dECM hydrogels for tissue engineering applications. His main academic interests are tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, genetic engineering, sustainability, and scientific communication.
