Ana Cação has a special interest in interdisciplinary contexts and collaborations. After a Bachelor in Law from the University of Coimbra (2012), she was a lawyer with a specialization in Public Administration at the University of Lisbon (2016). In 2018 she decided to become a designer and study at the Upper School of Arts and Design of the Polytechnic of Leiria. She has a bachelor's in Spatial and Interior Design (2021) a specialization in Product Design (2022) and a master’s in Design for Health and Well-being (2024.) In her dissertation, “Design for Knowledge Dissemination: towards Ecological Well-being, a design case with sea urchins”, she developed an interdisciplinary design research project that explored creative and participatory tools—such as cyanotypes, illustration books, and non-human personas—to foster empathy for marine biodiversity and advance the concept of ecological well-being. Since September 2022, she has been a research fellow at LiDA – Design and Arts Research Lab from Polytechnic of Leiria, where she is responsible for communicating R&D projects, building and managing a digital archive and discovering new ways to improve internal and external communication. Her interests include the relationship between design and well-being, ecology, science communication and photography.
