Bachelor of Medicinal Biotechnology from the School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, and Master of Biomedical Research from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra. Completed a basic Laboratory Animal Science (MLAS) course at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra. Currently, I am a first-year PhD student in Clinical Research and Health Services at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. My academic journey is marked by several curricular internships, based on the evolution of my skills in scientific research. My bachelor's degree final internship was at the Interdisciplinary Center of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR), where I acquired skills in cell culture and bioactivity assays. Additionally, the curriculum of the Master's in Biomedical Research includes three short-term internships in laboratories and areas of interest to the students. Thus, this choice aimed to align with my professional goals: at the Institute of Biomedicine of the University of Aveiro (iBiMED), where I was able to follow a microbiological study in animal models to consolidate the knowledge acquired in MLAS; at CIIMAR, where I developed a small project to investigate the potential antitumor activity of actinobacteria extracts, deepening techniques in cell culture and bioactivity assays; at the Center for Research in Health Technologies and Services (CINTESIS), where I had my first contact with pharmacometrics. In particular, this last internship opened the doors to my future in scientific research, with the development of my first work in pharmacometrics, culminating in the publication of my first scientific article. Since April 2022, I have been part of the PerMed research group at CINTESIS, first as a research intern and, since March 2024, as a research fellow under the Guest Chair in Oncology Research. My interest in pharmacometrics has been growing steadily, especially with my master's thesis (also developed in the PerMed group, CINTESIS), which focused on understanding interactions and sources of variability among patients through a population pharmacokinetic study of salbutamol using pharmacological modeling software such as Monolix and GastroPlus. Since then, I have been working on several projects focused on pharmacometrics for precision medicine. This dedication has resulted in several publications, including three articles derived from the study conducted in my master's thesis. To acquire advanced training in pharmacometrics, I applied to the PharMetrX Training+ PhD Program, which I am undertaking during the first year of my PhD. At this point, I have already completed two modules, taught in person at Freie Universitat Berlin and Universitat Potsdam in Germany. In addition to all this, as I have always sought to be actively engaged in the scientific community, I have two relevant participations in scientific congresses: a poster presentation at IJUP and an oral presentation at the 54th Meeting of the Portuguese Pharmacology Society. I also participated as a member of two organizing committees: Fórum Medicina de Precisão em Oncologia and LoginBiotech. Furthermore, I have had several participations in events, and have also submitted an abstract for poster presentation at the Population Approach Group Europe (PAGE), an annual meeting that brings together the scientific community with an interest in pharmacometrics. I am part of the editorial panel of the journal Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering (AIMS Press). Lastly, based on the knowledge acquired in pharmacometrics over the past two years, I have taught two workshops in this area at the Summer and Winter Schools of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto.
