Diogo Peixoto is graduated in Biology from the University of Évora (Portugal) and holds a Master's degree in Aquatic Biological Resources granted by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (Portugal). Currently, he is a PhD candidate for the Animal Science Doctoral Programme from ICBAS - University of Porto (Portugal), in collaboration with the University of Cadiz (Spain). As a member of the A2S team since 2018, Diogo has been involved in several research projects related to nutritional immunology using model organisms with economic value for the aquaculture industry. His PhD thesis is focused on the immunomodulatory, neuroendocrine, and metabolic effects of amino acids through dietary supplementation, as a strategy to enhance farmed fish health and welfare. Diogo Peixoto has 7 papers published in international peer-reviewed journals as first author and another 12 papers as co-author. He has received 4 awards and/or honors in his professional career and was involved in 12 research projects, one of them as principal researcher.
