Completed the Integrated Master in Chemical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico in 2008. The Master was concluded with a 6-month internship at the Institut Français du Pétrole (Lyon), with research work in the field of green diesel production from vegetable oils. Has more than 10 years of field experience in the industrial sector, specially in the area of cement production: laboratory management and quality control of alternative fuels supplied to cement plants; process engineering, cement grinding manager and production planning manager at SECIL-Outão cement factory. Collaborated, between 2019 and 2021, as Research Fellow, with the Center for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRSP, from the Polytechnic of Leiria), working in the fields of Chemical Engineering and Materials Engineering, with a special focus on additive manufacturing and 3D printing materials development. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Materials Engineering, with a research project focused on the development of extrusion-based 3D printing of Geopolymer Cement. The aim of the Ph.D. research project is to develop an environmentally friendly geopolymer cement mortar, incorporating inorganic waste streams or by-products from industry, with tailored properties, particularly in terms of its rheological and mechanical performance.
