Researcher at the Center for Sci-Tech Research in Earth System and Energy - CREATE, Instituto de Investigação e Formação Avançada – IIFA, Earth Remote Sensing Laboratory (EaRS Lab), University of Évora, Portugal. My research career has focused on atmospheric chemistry and physics, with a particular interest in air quality, atmospheric modelling, anthropogenic and natural emissions, and their environmental and societal impacts. Currently, I am a researcher at the University of Évora, Portugal, participating in projects that investigate the effects of climate change and air pollution in urban areas. I have academic background in atmospheric modelling, data assimilation, and advanced statistics to evaluate complex environmental phenomena. I have a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Master's degree and Ph.D. in Climate Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. My research focuses on the impacts of air pollution and extreme events in human health as well as air quality modelling and data assimilation with special emphasis on the metropolitan areas. I work with the Weather Research and Forecasting with Chemistry (WRF-Chem) and the EURopean Air Chemical-atmospheric Pollution Dispersion/Inverse Model (EURAD-IM) to address issues of air pollution, anthropocentric and fire emissions and extreme events. I have experience with chemical transport models, meteorological models (WRF), single particle Lagrangian integrated trajectory model (HYSPLIT), experimental campaigns using Lidar, low and high volume aerosol samplers. Fluent in Portuguese and English. Programming experience in Fortran, R and Python.
