I obtained my PhD in International Security in September 2018 at the Instituto Universitario General Gutiérrez Mellado (IUGM) of the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED). I received the Doctor International mention and the Extraordinary Award for Doctoral Thesis. Currently, I am Assistant Professor at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Previously, I was postdoctoral fellow at Universidad de Valladolid (July 2020-January 2021) and the UNED (November 2019-June 2020), in both cases under public competitive calls. In 2014, I received a four-year predoctoral fellowship at the IUGM. During that time (2014-2018), I was part of the teaching team of the Master in Peace, Security and Defense. I am integrated researcher at the Observatory of Foreign Relations (OBSERVARE) of the Autonomous University of Lisbon. There, I take part of the research project Gestao e Prevençao do Conflito na Guiné-Bissau, funded Instituto Camoes. I also participate in the project La contribución de las mujeres a la paz, la seguridad y la defensa, funded by UNED. I am Training Chair at Nanou Ki, a non-profit organization of Castile and León dedicated to the study and promotion of human rights and sustainable development. I am part of some research networks: Africaye, a group of experts in sub-Saharan Africa; Childheroes, a foundation dedicated to the protection and defense of the rights of vulnerable children, where I take part of a research project about sexual exploitation of children in Sierra Leone; and the research team created between Territorios de la Memoria Espana, Territoires de la Memoire Lieje and the Universidad de Valladolid working on memory, democracy, human rights and political transitions. I am also part of the research team "Human Rights, Historical Memory, and Political Transitions", and of two teaching innovation projects in Spain. My research focuses on the study of armed conflicts and political violence, international security, conflict prevention and early warning policies, particularly in Africa. I have also specialized in political transitions, electoral contexts, the analysis of policies for the prevention of radicalization in women, trafficking networks, particularly for the purpose of sexual exploitation, and in case studies on the prevention of genocide and the systematic violation of human rights. I have teaching experience in secondary school and in university studies, where I have taught seminars to students of the Universidad de Valladolid, the NOVA University of Lisbon and the UNED. I am co-director of a doctoral thesis within the PhD Program in International Security (UNED) and of a Master's Degree on African conflicts of a Master from Jaume I Uiversity, where I am also part of the teaching team. The research I have developed has materialized in several publications in national and international journals (in Spanish, English and Portuguese). I have published a monograph and several books chapters (in Spanish, English and Portuguese). I have coordinated the publication of several collective works and I am editor of three books. In 2015, I got the VII Essay Prize of Casa Africa (an institution of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation). I have made several research stays outside of Spain: in Portugal, the United Kingdom, Ghana and Guinea-Bissau. In Ghana I worked as a researcher in a project on human trafficking and migratory movements in sub-Saharan Africa. I have also participated in several conferences in Spain and abroad and I have been a guest speaker at academic and training meetings. Since January 2020, I am deputy director of the African Studies Observatory of Universidad de Valladolid.
