Susana P. Costa is currently a Research Engineer in the Medical Devices Research Group at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, working on developing a device for bacterial detection and identification in the environment based on volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Susana holds a Master’s degree in Bioengineering (2016) and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering (2023) from the University of Minho. She has more than 5 years of experience in bacterial detection sensors, published seven articles in peer-reviewed journals, and co-authored several conference proceedings abstracts. During her academic and Ph.D. research she received three awards and participated in various international projects.
