Takuji Ishikawa is a Full Professor in the Dept. Finemechanics, Tohoku University, Japan; Leader of the Biological Flow Studies Laboratory (BFSL) and International Collaborator of the research Center MEtRICs at Minho University, Portugal. His main research is mostly centered in the area of Computational Biomechanics, Biofluid Mechanics and Biomechanics of Swimming Microorganisms. He has published more than 235 scientific papers with more than 5000 citations (ISI-Scopus), corresponding to h-index of 38. He has participated in more than 20 national and international projects and has been Principal Investigator in more than 10 of them. He is a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals in the field of Biomechanics and he has supervised several PhD and Master students in the field of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering.
