Dr. Nuno Santos is presently a researcher at I3N-Aveiro and Department of Physics of University of Aveiro (UA). He has completed the Ph.D in Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies in 2018, the Master's in Physics Engineering in 2011 and the Licenciate Degree in Physics in 2010, all at UA. His scientific intervention areas and interests are significantly multidisciplinar, covering subjects within the physics of carbon materials and wide bandgap semiconductors, spectroscopy, nanomaterials, electrochemistry, optics, biosensors and, more recently, sustainable materials for energy-storage and conversion devices, namely as supercapacitors and electrodes for water splitting applications. Dr. Nuno Santos has published more than 35 articles in SCI Journals. His technical skills include experience in clean room processing and microfabrication, operation of scanning electron microscopes, Raman spectroscopy, optical spectroscopy and electrochemical techniques. In late 2016, he has undertaken an internship at the Centre for NanoHealth, Institute of Life Sciences 2, Swansea University, a biomedical I&D unit joining public and private efforts, where he has received intensive training in clean room processing and device microfabrication and testing, and gained valuable knowledge on the biosensing field. After his return, he has been responsible for the implementation and managing of a laboratory facility devoted to physical and analytical electrochemistry, biosensors and energy-storage systems based on several types of nanostructured electrodes.
