In 2016, Martinique Nunes was awarded an Integrated Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Department of Chemistry, University of Aveiro. To earn this degree, she developed research work over the course of eight months at the company Novozymes A/S (Bagsværd, Metropolitan Copenhagen), Denmark, involving the use of biocatalysts for treating products derived from vegetable biomass. Subsequently, she participated as a team member (fellow) of the project "SGH - SMART GREEN HOMES" - founded on a collaboration between the University of Aveiro and the company BOSCH Termotecnologia, S.A. - to carry out research on the purification of indoor air using porous materials as adsorbents. Currently, she is performing research on the synthesis of organometallic materials as team member (fellow) of the project "BiOle_AcidOxCat" at the University of Aveiro. She is the first author of one scientific article published in February 2021 and has presented two posters at the "Jornadas CICECO 2020" and the "Congreso Iberoamericano de Catálisis 2020" scientific meetings. These experiences have instilled in her a strong enthusiasm for research on catalysis and materials, and the conversion of biomass-derived compounds. Additionally, she strives to hone her communication and leadership skills as an active member of Toastmasters International since 2017, where she has held two different seats at the Directing Board of Clube Toastmasters Aveiro and has earned five awards.
