Rita Costa is a biomedical scientist with significant state-of-the-art expertise in lung biology and respiratory medicine. She obtained her PhD in Medical Research from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in 2020. Rita is currently a Postdoc at Helmholtz Munich, combining her expertise in lung biology with next generation personalized phage therapy to fight multidrug resistant bacterial infections. Her scientific achievements include 13 peer-reviewed publications: two first authorships in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (impact factor 14,2), and in the British Journal of Pharmacology (IF 9,47), and co-authorships on multiple high impact papers in prestigious journals such as Nature (IF 64,8), European Respiratory Journal (IF 33,8), and American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (IF 24,7), among others.
