My academic background began in 2008 in the Faculty of Engineering, Gipuzkoa at the University of theBasque Country (UPV/EHU) studying a Degree in Industrial Technique Engineering, Specialized in IndustrialChemistry, being awarded with the Extraordinary end of degree award to the best academic recordcorresponding to the course 2010/2011. Then, I completed a Master Degree on Renewable Materials Engineering at the UPV/EHU. I started with the PhD studies in the Doctoral Program in RenewableMaterials Engineering, Program with Mention of Excellence in 2012 (RD 99/2011; BOE 20/10/2011), through acompetitive predoctoral grant awarded by the UPV/EHU (PIF/UPV/12/201), joining as teaching and research staff in training in the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering of Gipuzkoa (UPV/EHU). During that period, the research was centered in the synthesis and characterization ofpolyurethane and polyurethane-urea dispersions for the preparation of films by casting and mats byelectrospinning loaded with renewable nanoentities. Nanocomposites and bioactive systems were prepared employing natural reinforcements and additives, such as cellulose nanocrystals and plant extracts. During this stage, I have received grants for carrying out visits, completing 2 international internships (2014 and 2016) in the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB), under the supervision of Prof. Filomena Barreiro. The PhD thesis was defended in 02/2017, obtaining Outstanding, Cum Laude with International Mention qualification. Moreover, I was awarded with the Extraordinary Doctorate award by the University of the Basque Country, corresponding to the course 2016/2017. Later, I carried on working with a Recent Doctor Researcher contract inthe same department, broadening the developed research and combining with teaching activities. Then, I was working for nearly 2 years as New Materials Area Supervisor in the Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology Center, which is associated to the University of Alcalá, in Madrid. The center is dedicated to support private companies developing research projects or scale-up and production processes according to the needs of the companies. The direct contact with companies and working in a wide range of fields simultaneously, were the main characteristics features in my applied research profile during this stage. Currently, I am working in the "Sustainable Processes and Products Group" in the Centro de Investigação de Montanha (CIMO), Polytechnic Institute of Bragança as Auxiliary researcher in an integrated permanent contract. My research line is centered in developing polyurethanes through green synthesis routes, bionanoparticles, sustainable emulsions and green microencapsulation strategies focused to advanced applications through advanced prototyping, namely 3D printing and electrospinning, combined with Master thesis and Doctoral co-supervision activities. I have contributed as researcher in several I+D projects financed in public calls (2 as PI) and I have published 41 articles in high index journals. I have participated more than 100 National/International Conferences, obtaining 4 awards to the best poster and contributed as Organizing Committee in 5 International Conferences. I have C1 level certificate in Basque and B2 in English. I have collaborated actively with diverse national/international institutions: POLYMAT(San Sebastian (SS), Spain(SP)); CIC NanoGUNE, (SS, SP); Leartiker S. Coop., (Markina-Xemein, SP); TECNALIA, Sustainable Construction Division, (Azpeitia, SP) andLaboratory of Separation and Reaction Engineering (LSRE), Associate Laboratory LSRE/LCM at IPB, (Bragança,PT). Regarding the impact of my scientific production, it can be analyze by the following general quality indicators: Total number of cites: 1084; Average of cites/year (2016/2024): 135.5. Total publications: 41 where 26 corresponds to Q1 (6 of them 1st Decile) and 7 correspond to Q2; H-index: 22 (SCOPUS 16/04/2024).
