Diana Neves Martins is a PhD Fellow of the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (SFRH/BD/143626/2019). Her doctoral research aims to study medieval Portuguese diplomacy during the reign of D. Dinis (1279-1325), with a PhD titled: "Ambassiatores meos: circunstâncias, processos e agentes das relações diplomáticas portuguesas (1279-1325) / Ambassiatores meos: circonstances, processus et agents des relations diplomatiques portugaises (1279-1325)". She is currently attending the PhD in Medieval Studies at Universidade Nova de Lisboa Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and University Aberta since 10/01/2019, which is co-tutored with the École Pratique des Hautes Études. In 2018 she completed her Master in History from Universidade Nova de Lisboa Faculty of Social and Human Sciences and was awarded 1 Merit and Excellence Award — Best Master in History 2017/2018. Her master's research was financed by an IEM / EGEAC Master's Scholarship. She is a Research Assistant at the Institute of Medieval Studies (IEM - NOVA / FCSH), where, since 2020, she is also the Elected representative of the PhD Students and Fellows. Diana Martins is the author of 7 book chapter, 34 articles in open access journals, but is also the co-coordinator and co-editor of 1 dossier in an open access journal, Medievalista, along with Stéphane Péquignot, as well as the co-editor of 3 books. She was a Co-organizer of the Journées d'études "La diplomatie des princes héritiers (XIIIe siècle-XVIe siècle)”, along with other 17 scientific events which she was also either a member of the organising committee or of the staff. During her career, has been a researcher in various, national (6) and international (2), financed research projects, which made her aware of the value and relevance of collaborative research, made with scholars from a variety of geographical and scientific backgrounds. In light of this, she is not only a member of the Premodern Diplomats Network, as well as two other research networks for the study of travel and pilgrimage and the human-animal relations during the Medieval Period, which promote the importance of the interdisciplinary research. Throughout her career, she as been invited to participate either as a temporary member teaching staff or to give a lecture to students for undergraduate, master and PhD students in Portugal and abroad - was member of the teaching staff in 3 courses and has given a total of 5 lectures. Since, she has been aware of the relevance of disseminating and discussing ideas and has participated as a speaker in more than 30 scientific events (2 as a keynote, 8 by invitation and 5 as a co-author). She has also led or co-organised two sessions presented in international meetings. Aiming equally to encourage the sharing of knowledge with the non-academic and non-specialised public, she has also taken part in scientific outreach activities for schools (2) as well as events for the general public, such as the European Researchers' Night or the Heritage Festival.
